Historical Mission Report: Goulburn Comic-Con 2015 7/11/15

Goulburn, New South Wales, 7/11/2015

Before the Animus, there was the Thylacine, and the first event for what would become the Shuttle Animus a year later was the inaugural Goulburn Comic-Con. Held within the Council Chambers of Australia’s first inland city. It was the creation of the Goulburn-Mulwaree Library to bring a local convention to the Southern Highlands, and the Thylacine had the flagship display.

Shuttle Thylacine Commander Lt Commander Kirok of l’Stok (Alan Anderton) and his while Sharyn along with the CO and XO of the USS Tydirium Commodore Greg Mortensen and Commander Prue Hill joined then Lieutenant Commander Ross Manuel at an event that has become a staple of the Animus’ calendar.

With Australian celebrity and noted Star Wars Alum Jay Laga’aia as the guest of honour, Goulburn Comic-Con was very popular within the local community and would become a biannual event trebling in size with each incarnation. The Inaugural Goulburn Comic-Con was also where we met long time Animus member Kiel (Alex Sullivan) and the nucleus of the USS Animus was formed.

With our attendance at this very first event, we created a relationship that will endure in perpetuity as it was greatly enjoyed by the crew of both the Tydirium and Animus to the point where we have attended every year and will continue to as long as they welcome us.
